"I stumbled upon In Town Automotive Northampton in June 2022 as a result of my vehicle breaking down the night before with a suspected starter motor issue. There was an ongoing dispute with my breakdown recovery provider and my other garage at the time who were unable to collect it as they didn’t provide that specific service however after phoning around numerous places the next day and becoming extremely concerned It would be stranded I was informed by Alex that they could arrange for a low loader to come out and collect it to take it in for examination that same afternoon which was a huge help. The price quoted for local collection was £51 which I also considered to be very reasonable considering all the other garages were quoting £150 and above! The car was taken in for a diagnostic inspection and the issue discovered was a dead start stop battery and not a starter motor as had previously been advised elsewhere. I arranged to have the battery replaced and also enquired about their vehicle service packages and then opted for the Gold Vehicle Service too which is openly priced on their website. Whilst the car was being serviced they also informed me that my drop link needed replacing on my OSF anti roll bar which I knew to be correct as it had recently been making an ever so slight knocking sound when cornering and on roundabouts. The overall price given for the extra work involved was also highly competitive and the service and repairs carried out were both professional and first class too and the car has been running lovely ever since. Kim, Alex, Sophie and the team on reception were also really helpful throughout with no query too small or pressure or obligation to accept quotes for the work recommended either and I found the whole process to be completely transparent as well, you can even have a complimentary tea or coffee, enjoy the flat screen TV, or watch all the repairs being carried out through the viewing glass if you so desire and there is a little corner for children to play in whilst you wait plus very clean and sanitised toilets for customers use if needed. I have since took my vehicle back for an MOT today 05/09/22 with In Town Automotive which passed first time with a minor advisory on my OSF and NSF tyres which I knew were due to be replaced anyway so again the work was carried out at a very competitive price in comparison to other garages that I have used in the past. Overall I have found In Town Automotive Northampton, to be a reliable, friendly, professional, client focused, affordable service that truly cares about customer satisfaction and getting it right with no job too small either. I have no hesitation in recommending this garage to anyone who needs work done on their car in future but please be aware that it does take slightly longer than normal to get updated on your car progress via the phone and the waiting times can sometimes take a little longer than advised because they are a busy independently run garage with a small team who always have cars on and off the ramp throughout the day so patience and understanding is required to that effect as the team are working their hardest to keep all their many customers happy. May I also add that the Focus and I have had a first class experience with In Town Automotive and they are certainly worth a visit especially if you are looking for great workmanship, and competitive pricing such as theirs.
