"Used to pop in here fairly regularly for tyre fittings and replacement tyres but have given up trying to work with/around the current manager's "computer says no" / "sounds like a you problem" attitude.
Shame, because the other staff have always been fantastic, always very helpful always very friendly and they are the reason to go there.
Unfortunately there was some confusion/miscommunication/misunderstanding of an MOT booking today having booked online via the "BookMyGarage" website. I was called by Head Office/HQ to say that I didn't actually have a booking at Leamington but could have one in Warwick, explained I wanted Leamington (walking distance) and was told they'd get back to me. I missed the phone call but got a text message confirming an appointment at 3pm... assumed it was at Leamington (as that's what I booked online, said I wanted on the phone and the text said neither Warwick nor Leamington). Turns out it was at Warwick. Unfortunate but never mind, it happens.
Today was just another example though of the manager being more interested in demonstrating that he is right/knows best/never does anything wrong and just generally being unpleasant and unfamiliar with the concept of customer service.
Instead of just "really sorry, there must have been some confusion, etc etc" it was just brash, abrupt and absolutely zero interest in trying to help or offer an alternative. Me asking when the next available test date was generated a snigger, and radiating pride, delight and one-up-manship when he told me it was middle of January.
This from the same individual who told me a while ago that Davanti definitely don't offer any sort of puncture guarantee, and then telling me that the guarantee that definitely doesn't exist definitely doesn't cover things like a screw in a tyre.... only to then phone a colleague (with another tone of "listen to what this idiot is banging on about") who told him that I, the customer, was indeed right..... and it all ended up moot because the puncture was repairable....
Oh yeahhh, and my first interaction with him years ago was trying to work something out to get approx 20 standard road tyres changed (at any time to suit them, with no real deadline), on 14" steel wheels, not fitted to a car just "loose", at something less than the £14 a tyre book price. Again, the attitude was like I asked him to let me shoot his dog in front of his kids or something.... so I went to Tyre Fit or Spa Tyres instead and agreed £10 a tyre and they smashed them out straight away. Can't remember which one it was, but between the canal/railway.
5 stars for the guys in the shop, (Craig is one I think, can't remember the others guys names, sorry, but they've always been great).
Somewhere between 0 and 1 for the manager. Little scroll through previous reviews suggests I'm not the only one to think so either- see "Clare" from a year ago, "Linda" from 3 weeks ago and even a few higher scoring reviews with things like "don't expect a warm welcome".
Averages out to a 3, because you might not be as precious as me.
