The First Stop network’s ability to attract many of the UK’s most successful garages has been further underlined after striking up a partnership with a hugely popular Oxford garage (formerly trading as HiQ Oxford).

First Stop Spanner Works, situated off Ferry Hinksey Rd, will motor into a new chapter of automotive care from Wednesday, November 30th, and has already received a £10,000 makeover complete in iconic First Stop signage.

Owner Zack Iqbal, who is celebrating his fifth anniversary as a garage owner, switched to First Stop after hearing about the network’s expertise in electric vehicle and hybrid vehicle maintenance, not to mention round-the-clock business support.

He said: “We have had five successful years here but we want to keep evolving, as the automotive industry never stands still. We believe that First Stop will allow us to do this and are open to new ideas and ways of working.”

Zack mentioned that his five-strong team of technicians were already well trained on EV and hybrid vehicle maintenance but said that First Stop’s expertise would allow his business to learn even more, through industry-leading staff training and access to some of the most advanced EV-ready tyre portfolios, including the Bridgestone premium range. This year we have also introduced Motorbike MOTS and Services. We specialise in Electric motorbikes.

First Stop believes that the acquisition is a huge statement of intent, as their plans to open 220 centres by 2024 gather pace. Fittingly, it has enlisted the backing of the World’s Fastest Shed, which will motor into Oxford especially for the First Stop Spanner Works opening ceremony on Wednesday (30th) November from 10 am to 2 pm.

Built and driven by Chipping Norton-based Kevin Nicks, it clocked a top speed of 106.123 mph (170.788 km/h) over a standing mile (1.6 km) in September 2020. Kevin is sponsored by First Stop and it is hoped that his appearance will swell visitor numbers at the opening.

First Stop’s Regional Business Consultant Sarah Gardner was instrumental in securing the partnership with Zack, and she expressed her delight at being able to work with such a forward-thinking business. “We pride ourselves on being a respected network that goes the extra mile for motorists and offering a warm, honest service that ensures they keep coming back every time. Zack and his team share our values. They’re a hugely respected garage that prides itself on the same customer service levels, " she said.

“To welcome him to the First Stop network is a huge statement of intent for us and we can’t be more excited to support the business to deliver even more solutions for its customers", she added.

First Stop provides business leads, sales campaign support, marketing assistance, signage, training, business consultancy and preferential rates on Bridgestone and Firestone tyre portfolios. It also boasts some incredible experience in the automotive retail sector and is on hand with aftermarket support for its dealer partners at all times.
