Frequently asked questions
No, it's not the same.
Alignment involves setting the wheels on each axle in parallel, and the axles parallel to each other, adjusting wheel angles so that the car steering does not drift to one side, as well as ensuring driver comfort and good grip for the tyres, thus guaranteeing safety at the wheel.
Balancing is a mechanical process of adjusting the wheels to prevent vehicle vibration at any speed, no matter what type of driving is used.
The modern car is built for comfort, performance and handling. In order to achieve and maintain the best ride possible, the steering and suspension needs to be measured and adjusted within the motor manufacturer’s specifications. This can only be done by measuring all four wheels and having a proper full four wheel alignment measurement.
Wheel alignment can be affected by hitting the kurb or a large pothole in the road or travelling regularly on gravel roads. If alignment is out, it can cause excessive wear to your tyres and problems with steering or suspension.
Brake Station customer reviews
"Alway good"
"Honest & reliable. Always putting the customer first. Highly recommend."
"I took my car in today after hearing a loud squeaking noise whilst driving. I was concerned because I needed to drive back to Manchester at the weekend. I left my car with them (planned to leave it overnight) and they contacted me a couple of hours later. It turned out to be a stone caught in between the brake shield and rotor and they had removed it. They said there was no charge. When I collected my car, I tried to give them some money (as a tip) but they wouldn’t take it. If I lived nearer I would definitely take my car there in future. I’ll be recommending them to everyone I know in Peterborough. Top service and a big thank you for your help. Highly recommend this garage."
"Let down by another company... begins with H... these guys got me booked in and sorted in the same afternoon, great job at a decent price!"
"Second to none, outstanding service, Honest advise, they could not do enough for you. I had a last minute brake change on my van and they had it back to me in less than a day considering the amount of work that was needed. Highly recommended. Matt with the transit 👌🏻"
"Pretty good service overall. A few things I noticed after some repair work and service. The oil was pretty black even though it had been "changed" so ended up changing it again as I wasn't convinced it had been. Plug from the alternator wasn't plugged back in firmly so ended up popping out with engine vibration. Hose clips for the intercooler weren't very good and that ended up with oil vapor collection and leaking. Ended up purchasing better quality clips and fitting them myself. Can't fault the welcome and communication from the garage but feels like some corners are being cut. I would use again but would check certain things before taking it in so I could prove if work has been done or not."
